About WAY

History

Founded in 2001, the Watershed Alliance of York (WAY), Inc., is a non-member, umbrella organization serving over 50 local academic, civic, business, government, and non-profit organizations by providing a communications center and information clearinghouse; building consensus on watershed concerns and issues; fostering networking, cooperation, problem solving, sharing of resources; and leveraging support and sustainable funcing of locally led watershed planning, restoration and protection efforts.


WAY is incorporated in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as a tax-exempt Charitable organization and a federal IRS 501(c)(3) non-profit.
Governed by a 15 member citizen, volunteer board of directors, the board meets quarterly--first Wednesday of January, April, July and October, annually. Meeting are held at the York County ANNEX (Pleasant Acres), begin at 7:00 p.m., and are open to the public.
